03. Treasure Cove

This is our plan. One of us will go to Adventure Isle guest service to collect Fastpasses (FP), and another will queue for Pirates of the Caribbean - which have no FP. We initially wanted to get FP for "Roaring Rapid" but it was not available on our visit, the only 1 available was “Soarin over The Horizon”.
We reunite at the Pirates of Caribbean ride in Treasure Cove around 8:50 am. The ride, was also, not open yet so everyone was queuing outside till it’s started to rain! Y’all know, getting rain so early the day in a theme park is totally not fun. (●︿●)
The CM acts quickly and opens up the indoor queue of the pirate ride. The indoor queue was extremely long, it took 3 long minutes of fast walk and turns to reach the Boat (main attraction). There are lots of great details around, but we didn't snap any photos, the queue was moving really fast.

Score: 10/10 | Thrill Level: ★☆☆ | Our Wait Time: appx. 30 mins

Man, where do we even start, THIS RIDE IS AMAZING!!
One of SHDL most anticipated rides, and now we understand why. Here your boat can go faster or slower, or maybe spin through the largest sets we've ever seen in Disneyland! With the cool special effects and sound effects, it pretty much explained what would Pirate of Caribbean be IRL. Take "It's a small world" and make it hard-core, you'll get Pirates of the Caribbean!!

After coming out super energized, we were awarded certificates to be the "first" guest to experience "Pirates of the Caribbean." *omg thankyou* (。・ω・。)ノ The exit of the ride leads us to the Doubloon Market.
#DOUBLOON MARKET
Doubloon Market Sold several of merchandise all in pirates theme! From pirate Mickey's ears, a plush toy to key chains and even costume to bring out the pirate in you! The store decorations are amazing, skulls with costume hang on top of the cashier counter, as well as canon in the shop.

Snap few outdoors photos and headed to Shipwreck Shore while waiting for Jack Sparrow meet & greet.

Score: 6/10 | Fun Level: ★☆☆ | Our Wait Time: 0 min

Ahoy matey! Let yer pirate babies and kids play, pretend and explore at the pirate playground for a fun, splashy pirate adventure!
It was a pretty interactive place, but it was definitely built for kids because some areas are pretty low in height. *laughs* By low we meant 5 years old since we aren't tall either. Haha. On the side note, there's already one broken interactive “canon” during our visit. It made us questioned how long does it take for the next one... LOL

Fire in the hole!!

Score: 10/10 | Fun Level: ★★★ | Our Wait Time: appx. 10 mins
We return to Jack Sparrow’s meet and greet and waited for him to arrive. Just like his usual self, Jack walk in and greet us personally! He didn't go straight to the photo booth and pose, instead, he walked towards us and invited us for a photo!

Photopass Photo comes with Jack signature! Along with...super HD and hard flash HAHA
"Jack Sparrow" portrays Jack Sparrow really well, we once thought and wonder, "Since we're in Shanghai, will all of the meet and greet (M&G) character speaks mandarin? What if the characters don't know what we're talking about?" But NAAAAAAHHHH, Jack Sparrow is soooo goooood!!!
We have a pretty good interaction/conversation with him as well, we asked to sail on his black pearl, and he asked about our ship, we said we don't have any, and he continued,
“You aren't pirates then" - while having his hand on our shoulders.
Once we told him we are mermaids, he immediately stood so far away from us and said, “I don't like mermaids" *laughs* and so much more. We had our picture together and said bye!
//* Note: Meet and greet rating may vary and was judge based on our own experiences. Since we knew there’s few “Jack Impersonator” in the park. This applies to other M&G characters as well.
The time in Treasure Cove ended quicker than we expected so we have extra time to spare before our Soarin Fast Pass Ride. (Ps. we forgot about the Stuntman show)

Capt. Jack Sparrow's flag flying high in the sky
04. MEET & GREET – TIMON, DUFFY, MICKEY’S PAL
We left Treasure Cove and head back to Mickey Avenue to deposit our items in the locker. On our way, we saw a live pirate performance that is halfway through, no idea what's going on; we skipped and continue our way.Coincidentally, we met lonely Timon waiting to be pictured at Happy Circle, poor guy, alone without Pumba. We visited him and sang “Hakuna Matata” and he starts dancing the hula! The chorus isn't that long, but it felt like a minute thanks to the major awkwardness hahahaha.

Along the way to Mickey Avenue, we ran into Duffy and Mickey’s pals - Donald, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto all out and happily taking photos. Not sure if we came at the right time, but we managed to grab a few shots before heading to the locker.

Let's pretend this is a clear shot.

Before heading back to Adventure Isle, we stop and grab a photo with a very famous person. The man who started it all. The legendary - Walt Disney!
Ok, just a STATUE of Walt Disney, but the statue was placed in the middle of the park with the stunningly Enchanted Castle at his back, one of many picture-perfect spots in SHDL!
In addition to that, since we’re in China, the most populated country in the World. Many inconsiderate guests are dying to photobomb your perfect moment. Some even just barged in. (`ー´) Our photo pass photographer was super, not only he is kind enough to take a picture for us, he even used "a polite term" to shoo them away. Bravo! *slow clap* Haha, thank you Mr.!

One man and his suitcase of dreams.
05. SOARIN OVER THE HORIZON

Off to Soaring over the horizon with our fast pass tix, living the fast lane babeh *insert cool emoji here* The queue felt very compact at first, just like walking thru a maze of rock. Until you reach some point, it flipped 180.
#SOARIN OVER THE HORIZON QUEUE [5/5]
It was the most beautiful surprise we've ever seen, above our head stretched a night starry sky or the Milky Way, and several constellations that can be seen rotating around. It was so beautiful, we couldn't keep our mouth closed *laughs* It was stunning, we need to give it a rate!

Proceed to the ride, we are brought to a room with a television briefing us about the ride safety instruction dubbing in Mandarin. No English subs available but the video is clear enough to understand. 30 peoples will enter at once, and they are strict with the number of guests going in as dots are placed on the ground for each individual to stand on it.
One by one we entered the "hall”, taken our seats and we are lifted up in front of a huge screen.

Score: 10/10 | Thrill Level: ★☆☆ | Our Wait Time: appx. 30 mins (with FP)
We'll take back our words for saying “We don't wanna ride this" before the park opens.HAHAHAHA! It blew our mind and far exceed our expectation (which is zero). Soaring high, gliding like a bird across breath-taking sights around the world! It was so beautiful, so realistic and pleasing to ride on. Having our leg dangling in the air, the experience was very new.
We always thought that its non-Disney related, but somehow it teeny-bit does? We will definitely get a FastPass for this because queuing hours for a "non-Disney-focus" ride…is not really our thang...

Travel the world we go!!
06. MARVEL UNIVERSE

Following our "schedule”, we head over to Marvel Universe next.
With the music and decoration, it feels heroic entering this place, it seems like we have entered a secret hideout of the Marvel heroes. We dashed towards the Spidey line once we saw how short the queue is! The queue took about 5-10 mins, and we met the friendly neighbourhood Spiderman!
Trying-to-Disneybound as Spiderman fangirl Von was happily and giggly confessed to Spidey he is her no.1 superhero! *awww*
But Asian Spidey who literally had no Spidey sense idea what she was saying nor her purpose of dressing up, just gave her a fast hug like how he did to all guest. Totally ignored what she said and immediately asked her to pose for a photo. No compliment whatsoever!
*OMG* SPIDERMAN HOW COULD CHUUU!!!
Disappointed spider-von stepped aside and wait for her sister turn. Then Spiderman poses a better, even cooler move on her photo. The cast member must have heard Von's heartbreak and requests if Spidey could do a re-take for her. HAHA

Score: 6/10 | Von's Ratings: [-1000/10] | Our Wait Time: appx. 15 mins

Yeap, this was the pose.
YeeVon's letter to spidey,
"Dear Spiderman, you have crushed my heart......"
We went over to Captain America's queue after Spiderman since it’s short as well. Cap ask Von how was her day, and heartbroken spider-von confronts Captain America about her problems with Spidey, just like a good person he always is, Cap listened and comforted her. Lin just have a decent meet and greet with him and asked if he could send a video message to our relatives. :D
YeeVon's Letter to Captain America,
"Dear Captain America, thank you..."

Score: 10/10 | Von's Ratings: [++1000/10] | Our Wait Time: appx. 15 mins

Few minutes before the next session of Marvel Academy starts, we went to take a shot with Iron Man. There we met a dedicated photographer who has a little OCD with Camera settings *laughs*.
We passed our DSLR, and he tested a shot to check the lighting, he asked us are we satisfied with the outcome and stuff, we said we're okay with anything. We also allowed him to change our setting if he is uncomfortable with it, so he did…! *laughs* Good job sir, Good job to you!
It’s about 12:20pm now, and our 1st comic class is starting pretty soon!

Score: 7/10 | Fun Level: ★★☆ | Our Wait Time: appx. 10 mins

Let the artist and the geek inside you come out and play! Learn to draw either Iron Man, Spiderman, Captain America or Groot in this step by step tutorial. The lesson was conducted fully in Mandarin, and characters are selected in random. We got Iron Man btw.
A brief introduction of the character would start first before we began to draw, the artist was quite interactive, and it was fun to doodle around. We were surprised at our own outcome! So don't be afraid to try, with or without skill, your artwork might be an official product look-a-like or a Pasar Malam quality hahaha. And hey! Is a great souvenir to bring home!

Us with our drawings
=✧=
Once the class end, we lingered around Marvel Universe a couple more and headed out. The area is quite small so you probably only spend less than an hour here. There's also Marvel merchandise available, and a display of costume from Marvel Cinematic Universe film. Other than that, there's nothing much going on here.

Our initial plan after Marvel Universe is to watch the Parade, sadly it has been raining all morning, and we went to Fantasyland instead. Our follow-the-schedule-plan ends here. *laughs* Time to let it flowww, let it flowww~ (o_ _)ノ彡☆
