Part 5 of our °o° Shanghai Disneyland Diary.
You've got a friend in me~ You've got a friend in me~ We've got a friend in Shanghai, and it was the Toy Story Hotel!! Hahaha *cough lame af* The Toy Story Hotel is a Pixar themed hotel located in Shanghai Disney Resort. We stayed in this themed hotel for 2D1N; even though it was a short stay, we still had a great experience!! Definitely, a must stay for all, especially if you are a Toy Story fan! Today's post is only dedicated to this hotel and nothing else. Enjoy!

It took a while for us to reach our hotel, thanks to the crazy queue at the bus stop in DisneyTown. Right when it seemed like it couldn’t get any worse, there is another long queue at the lobby counter as well. Stupidly we queue for it without knowing we could go to the second counter specifically for “checked-in guest.” Haha! Oh well, at least now we know there's such a way, so free Bunny Tips for Y'all.
We've not stayed in any Disney Hotel, so this will be our first! After checking in, we were given our room key and a map of Toy Story hotel. From the lobby to the hotel lift and up to our room door, we just can't stop laughing and giggling like 5 years old!

It's crazy how happy we felt just by opening the doors to our hotel room. We were really worn out coming back from the park but seeing our room for the first time zap our energy back to max level. We've not stayed in any hotel like this, especially, thinking back where we've stayed the night before, we felt really fortunate just to be here. Again, we need to reprise, this was our first time in a Disney Hotel, so we took all of our time to appreciate and spot all the crazy details they put into the room. ♡ ~('▽^人)
// THE ROOM
Guess our inner kid dreams had come true because it seems like we are in Andy's room! Okay, it is not a replica of his room, but it was close enough. The rooms are modern, spacious, and fully equipped with necessities. There is some space next to the closet where you can put your luggage, a small working table, a small refrigerator, etc. When you switch on the telly, it will play “You got a friend in me” instrumental on repeat. *oh, the feels*
Anyway, sorry for the ugly yellowish photos, we took the picture during the night, and the room lighting wasn't good.

#BATHROOM#
On the other hand, the bathroom was simple, the tiles are in red and white, and the shower curtain has sketches of Toy Story characters! They even have tub showers, plenty of towels, and the best part, cute little-themed toiletries!!!! *sapu everything*
We had a little issue with the shower tap. It won't budge. It’s about 1 am, and we were really worried we broke that thing. In the meantime, we desperately need a shower *Von didn't even have her shower the day before Disneyland* She gives a big push, and it works fine later. *phew*
The day ends. We had a good night's rest on their super comfy marshmallow bed.

// DAY 2 - HOTEL INTERIOR
Good Morning! After waking up as early as we could, we dolled up for another great day here in SHDL. We bid goodbye to our lovely Buzz Lightyear room and headed down to the lobby for checkout.
We have not mentioned this previously, but here is why we were laughing at the hotel elevator! When you use the hotel elevator, there's a voiceover of the Toy Story character, like Jessie, Little Green Alien, etc., when the elevator opens and closes in between floors!!! A very nice touch indeed!

Arriving at the hotel lobby, there's a hugeeee poster of Ham above the lift. And not far away from the lift, there's another hugeee holographic Buzz Lightyear portrait! Right next to the portraits is a spiral staircase that leads down to the Sunnyside Cafe. Sadly, we didn't have our breakfast in Sunnyside Cafe, so we couldn't provide any info on what the cafe serves for breakfast. Sorry.

#Sunnyside Cafe#

// HOTEL EXTERIOR
The Sunnyside cafe leads to a Buzz Courtyard, the home of the giant Buzz Statue! The other side of the hotel is the Woody Courtyard, which also features a giant Woody statue and the Launchpad. The hotel also includes Toy Story character meet and greet, sadly we didn't manage to meet any. Perhaps you can ask the concierge desk for the meet and greet schedule.
The main entrance is shaped like a cardboard box. On the left of the entrance you can find the Taxi stand and on the right is the Shuttle Bus Stop. The hotel has a shuttle bus service every 10 minutes to and from Disney Town. 1st shuttle starts at 7am, and the last at 12am.
We strolled around the hotel one last time before stepping into the shuttle bus towards the park.

// OUR REVIEW & FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Our first impression...? Hmmm, when we step foot into the hotel, there's the wind blowing through our hair, bright lights flashing, and flower petals all around the entrance. I know you didn't see it happen, but that's what we saw... in our heads. Haha! I think we had all this imagination because we had so much happiness stepping into a Disney compound. We felt warm inside out. (っ˘ω˘ς )
There's 2 Hotel in Shanghai Disneyland resort, and Toy Story was considered an "Economical Hotel." Even as an "Economical Hotel," the hotel does live up to the Disney Standard. The theme is adorable, our room is comfortable and was fully equipped with all necessities. We can (still) smell the "new-home-scent" while we staying in Toy Story Hotel, which means the hotel is"quite new," hence the place was spotless.
The cast members working there were friendly and helpful, welcoming us with great hospitality and speaks decent English! It helped us with our luggage, our transportation and etc.! That reminds us... an embarrassing story. While we were about to leave the Toy Story Hotel, we went to the Concierge Desk to arrange a taxi to the airport.
Both of us, along with 2 or 3 cast members, were waiting for the taxi outside the lobby. While waiting, we make a request to the cast member. We asked, "Can you refill our empty water bottle before we leave?" *Holding multiple bottles* They pause, laugh, but they accepted our request. Instead, they DID refill every bottle for us! LMAO!!! Thank You!

// PRICE
There 3 types of rooms in Toy Story Hotel that sleeps a max of 4 adults. The price differs depending on how many adults there are in a room. For 2 adults, the price starting from
- Garden View room, 850 yuan (approx RM 531 / RM 265 per pax )
- Courtyard View room, 1,050 yuan (approx RM 656 / RM28 per pax)
- Park view room, 1,350 yuan (approx RM. 843 / RM421 per pax) *Note: Price above is based on our time of visit June 2016, for the latest price, please go to SHDL website."
We stayed in Courtyard view since there's no more room available for Garden View, and we did find the Froom a little expensive for our blood. But after experiencing the hotel for 1 night, and given it was in a Disney Property, the price was pretty reasonable.

The view from our room.
All in all,
Personal Rating : Cleanliness : 5/5 || Comfort : 5/5 || Facilities : 3.5/5 || Hospitality: 5/5

If we have the budget, we would love to stay in Shanghai Disneyland hotel as well... As for now, we're glad and enjoy the experience of staying in the Toy Story hotel. We will definitely see ourselves come back to Toy Story Hotel one day! Thank You, Shanghai! ٩(。•́‿•̀。)۶
