Simple Plan Taking for the Team Tour 2016

Simple Plan are back once again to Malaysia after 4 years! *crazy-happy-dance*

Simple Plan's Taking One for The Team tour was their fourth concert here in Malaysia and it was held on 7th September 2016 at KL Live organized by IMC live group Malaysia. Our pcd tweets and comments of “Please come to Malaysia” finally pays off! Most of their fans are probably in their 20s now, so high five if you applied leave for this day, because we did.

We purchased our ticket immediately once it was available on TicketCharge website & collect it the next day, no thoughts and doubt because we knew deeply we wanted to attend it again.



// The day has come!

We arrived at KL live about 2pm after our work, and started queuing with our "dapao" lunch. Thankfully they moved the queuing upstairs, thus it’s so much cleaner and no more sitting out in the hot sun! YAY!

Everything was already set up when we arrived, except for the merchandises, they are in the midst of preparing it. There's few numbers of fans who was already there, you could count them with your fingers, not sure if we should be sad or happy about it.*mixed thoughts*. There wasn’t much thing going on other than waiting, and chatting with new SP fans! *waves hi to two of the siblings in front of us*  We was also sorta-entertained by the non-sticky PS3 signboard that keeps detaching from the wall.

Time passes quickly, and more fans coming in and the staff gathered the SPcrew for the sound check party. That’s when we snapped. ..crew? SPCREW? (°ヘ°)??
Wasn’t their fans called Astronauts? We didn't aware of this “SPcrew”, and we just let it slide off our shoulders...You could hear Perfect World was playing from the hall, it totally pumped up our mood for the concert not only that, we were amused on how sound proof their curtains were.. hahaha

Moments later. Maggy from Flyfm greet the crowd, she’s meeting the boys in a few and wanted to show them a message from the fans waiting outside.

It's about time to go in, the organizer gave one last notice on the prohibited items that are not permitted inside the venue. No Video cam, no DSLR and no water bottle. Ka-peech!
At this point, there’s a pair of disrespectful couple from the back jumped right in front the queue. They spot an empty spot from far and just sat there giggling. As if we’re like too dumb enough not to know. We do know, and many realize, but we just chilled and close an eye with this situations, but damn if we were the guy behind them we’ll be sooooooo pissed.

The doors are now open, Post game VIP went in first, then it’s our turn, it's soooo nerve-wrecking yoo. Y’all can see fans are going in and you still waiting for your wristband to sealed. We got the first row, however it was all the way at the corner. It’s good enough, since we have this A3 sized fan board with us and standing on the 2nd row was very very troublesome.Yes it does make a huge impact

Another round of wait. Time passes way slower inside the hall compare to the one at 2pm.We waited, while impatiently listening to the ramdom songs played which apparently wasn’t SP’s song. It’s so nerve wrecking, especially that little pause when the songs transition to another. Ya’ll don't know whether it’s a short pause or a long pause.

The stage was really dark, the fans were screaming randomly, but it's really unclear who’s on the stage. Got guailou la, but the guailou ain’t Simple Plan guailouuu yo! We bet they are SP managers or affiliated with them since they were doing the final checkup on the instruments. At least we got something to busybody at.

We also took selfies, wefies and chatted with fans next to us. One of em’ drew and make her own “Astronaut T-shirt” , another next to us got a photo with SP! She told us that she’s part of SPcrew, OK! It all make sense now! Sadly it’s too late to have another sound check party.Still, Malaysian fans were so dedicated!

// Concert Start

It’s 8:30pm, and the local band perform first. We have no idea who they were but they sing good! Go by the name Dva (Dua) Duo, they helped hyped the crowd a little bit, and gave an inspirational speech of not giving up our dream!

We thought Simple Plan will come up right after, but there goes another round of wait…It’s about 9:20pm when the music stopped. LONG. PAUSE. MODE.

The crowds started to cheer, chanting SimplePlan. One by one you’ll able to see silhouette of them going up on stage.With a big punch at the drum, you heard the bass, the guitars and then...

WHATSSUP KL!!!


They sang Opinion Overload and the crowd went super fucking wild, screams and excitement that translates WE FUCKING MISS YOU. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE. SIMPLE PLAN WE LOVE YOUUU *sobs*

Continuous singing from Opinion Overload to Jet Lag all the way till the end, with a little rest and talk in between. Pierre even speak in malay which naturally hypes us even more. It was really nice of them to speak more terms than the last concert. They are really fun people, especially when it comes to entertaining the fans.

We were astonish how they are still able to plays and perform like they used to. Major salute and respect. Singing mixture of songs from their past and latest album, which we all love. They’ve not only bring back the good ol memories but also continuing giving us new great memories. It never endssss~~~~

It feels soooooo great after the concert, we can’t remembered the last time we felt this good. It was the most enjoyable concert we’ve attended this year, by far the worst case of PCD. The 10 year old us would be so grateful at where were we standing right now, seeing our childhood heroes perform right in front of our eyes, it’s very touchy and nostalgic!

Not only the concert was superb fun, we received few fan service from the boys. Not all celebrities do that, plus they are really good at it! PIERRE AND JEFF SIGNED OUR FAN BOARD!! HOLD UP!! WHAAAA :D *SLAP EACH OTHER*

We really appreciated that they took their time on stage to sign for us *touched*. Pierre went down often but only to the middle and right side, as for David, he owned the entire first row. Haha! We managed to touch his face, his guitar, arms, and even got a friendly cheek kissed from him! Wait whaa??

Since we’re at the corner, Jeff was sooo close to us, staring only at him worth every second of our time like c'mon he’s really cool with the guitar! The way he plays it, how he hops and nods his head. We were so passionate in front of Jeff, he gave us his guitar pick personally; not sure because we raise our hand every time he raise it up.

// Overall & Thoughts
Simple Plan, their talent of writing music with powerful relatable lyrics that able to capture all hearts from all nations was simply amazing . With all that energy they gave on stage, singing and “lompat-lompat” around along with small silly dancing, you never expect this coming from men in their 30s! It's so true that they say, Punk rock bands never aged! We are all still, “I’m Just a Kid” inside.

Thank you so much SIMPLE PLAN for coming to Malaysia again! You guys always make our little heart go BOOM!!.We hope you will have a good rest, continue making good music and hopefully you’ll come again soon, ASAP!
